Affilinet

Project Description

Reward your best affiliates, not the last.

A great affiliate is an affiliate that returns more than you pay.  But how do you know? Many analytics systems such as Google Analytics attribute orders to the last click. This last click are often discount affiliates, but rarely the blogs that initiated the first visit.

How to reward your affiliates

A customer journey has on average of 5 visits from multiple on, – and offline channels. Blogs and information affiliates contribute mainly to the Awareness and Interest phase but rarely lead directly to a purchase. After the Awareness and Interest phase are customers visiting often price comparison sites and/or discount affiliates.

To measure the actual profitability of an affiliate you need to have a “algorithm based attribution tool” like AdCurve. These attribution tools attribute the order value to each touch-point based in the actual contribution to the purchase. AdCurve also measures the actual cost of each order, the margin and the actual contribution of each affiliate. In AdCurve you can see directly what the actual profitability is of each affiliate.

The commission you agree is always based on last cookie attribution. AdCurve tracks and calculates the max. commission per affiliate (similar to the maximum cpc in AdWords). The optimal commission is a commission that is just a bit higher than your competitors commission but lower than the maximum commission. Your affiliate network can tell you exactly what commission you should offer to each affiliate to beat your competition.

Data driven tips

AdCurve automatically generates tips if you pay more than you gain.

The visit url’s from your affiliates are tagged with a click_id and an affiliate_id. AdCurve tracks those visits up to the order like Google Analytics does. AdCurve attributes the order margin to all the assisted channels based on their true contribution. AdCurve collects by API the actual cost per affiliate. That’s how AdCurve calculates the profitability of each affiliate.

AdCurve calculates many kpi’s like the eCPC and the max. commission. The max. commission is the margin an affiliate generates divided by the last cookie revenue.  So if an affiliates generates an attributed margin of $ 100 and his last cookie revenue is $ 1,000 the max commission in 10%. because if you offer him a higher percentage you would loose on every order. The eCPC is the actual costs divided by the amount of visits.

You can select your affiliate network in the AppStore of AdCurve. In just 3 steps is your feed generated, are the tracking tags of your network installed and collect AdCurve the actual costs.
